Greetings to all my readers. From December 28, 2016, to January 12, 2017, we’d completed 10 cities in Thailand and one in Laos. It is pretty challenging and there are few obstacles because involving children aged 3 years and 10 months.

Travel Date: December 28, 2016
Day: 1
Location: Kuala Lumpur and Padang Besar (Perlis, Malaysia)

On the night of December 27, we did not get enough sleep. There are two reasons. Firstly, this is the first time we have traveled abroad as a family and secondly because worried if we missed the train.

The ETS train is too fast. The stop time at each station is only between 15-30 seconds except for a popular stations like KL Sentral, Ipoh and Alor Setar.

That’s the blue-covered bus stop that I’ve mention in a previous post. There’s a cottage or a barricade of soldiers at the front, and perhaps the purpose is for guarding the borders. But I did not take the picture, worried if they thought something terrible about me. When we arrived here, we were wondering and still confused about how to get a public bus. We wait for almost 10 minutes but still no sign of a bus. There are also ‘tuktuk’ drivers who stop and ask if we want to go to Hat Yai, but because I’m worried if accidentally involved with a border scam, I just show a “no” hand gesture to them. There is also a Thai-Malay man who supposedly wanted to send us for free to Hat Yai, but I did not believe him. He told us to ride with a taxi driver. Of course, we have to pay, right? From the deal, he will be able to earn a commission. Be careful. Who knows, right after the free taxi ride, he suddenly charges us RM300, that is wrong, right? Free taxi? Too good to be true.

Day: 2
Location: Hat Yai, Thailand

That morning after dawn, we all got up. That night we slept soundly. Once I woke up, it was morning. Fortunately, there is no interruption from Hat Yai’s ghosts, hehe. Indeed, the hotel seemed quite old. When we got ready, we went downstairs to the ground-floor lobby. The clock shows 7.06 am and the weather is good. The road in Hat Yai city looks quiet in the morning. While outside the hotel, I wonder if we would come back to Hat Yai in the future by car? Where do I need to park? If not, the vehicle will be towed by the municipal council.

The story is very lengthy and has to be separated into two blog entries. First, from Wat Hat Yai, and due to not hiring any tuktuk, we needed to walk to the main road. After walking out of Wat, there was an entrance gate. At the edge, there is a primary school and the atmosphere is quite crowded because of the voice of the students there who were receiving lessons from their teachers. So, we went into the school area without further ado and looking for new experiences while traveling.
